Par Sheet Template

A par sheet that admits the truth about pars: they differ by delivery day, they belong to a vendor and a delivery schedule, and they go stale. This template has one par column per delivery day and a last-reviewed date in the header, because a par nobody has reviewed since March is a guess wearing a number.

Columns in this template

  • Header: location, owner, and last-reviewed date — pars need one owner and a review cadence
  • Item and count unit — pars in vendor packs where possible, so counting and ordering are one motion
  • Vendor and delivery days — the par only means something relative to when the next truck comes
  • Par per delivery day — the Friday par covers the weekend; it is not the Monday par
  • Notes — seasonality flags, 86’d items, substitutions in effect

How to use it

  1. Compute pars from actual usage — the calculatordoes the statistical version — rather than copying last year's sheet.
  2. Write pars per delivery day, not one number per item.
  3. Assign one owner, and review monthly against sales — update the header date each time.
  4. When a par changes, change the order guide the same day; forked documents drift.

Templates are the manual version of this workflow. When the counts should come from your POS, the pars should recompute themselves, and the finished order should send itself to the vendor — that's LineNow. Free for 90 days, $100/month after.
