Do my staff need to download an app?

No. You send a count link, and it opens in the browser on any phone. There’s nothing to install and no login to share. The owner or manager uses LineNow on a computer or phone to see counts and place orders.

Can staff count in cases instead of single items?

Yes. Each item can be counted in units or in the supplier’s pack. Enter 4 cases of 6, and LineNow records 24 units.

Does it scan barcodes?

When receiving, yes: scan a box with the phone camera to find the item on the order. Counting is by item, so staff can count shelves with no barcode labels.

Does it update my POS?

For items you map, counts and received deliveries update stock in Square, Clover, Lightspeed, or Shopify. Toast is read-only, so LineNow reads Toast sales but doesn’t change Toast.

It’s free for 90 days with no card. After that it’s $100 a month per location, with counting, receiving, and supplier ordering included. If you only need a count sheet, the free inventory spreadsheet may be enough.

What kinds of businesses use it?

Independent shops and food businesses that buy from suppliers: cafés, restaurants, bottle shops, gift shops, garden centers, and hardware stores. It isn’t built for tracking equipment or a home inventory.

What to look for in an inventory app.

Counts in cases: Staff see cases on the shelf, but you sell single units. The app should take either and do the math.
Connected to your POS: A count that doesn’t reach your POS has to be typed in twice. Check which items update and where.
